Weight-based pediatric dosing for the four most-prescribed drugs in Indian dental practice — Amoxicillin, Cefadroxil, Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. Generates exact mL of syrup, daily totals, and India-relevant brand & cost prompts.
EasyClinic auto-doses by weight, suggests Indian brands by stock & cost, prints/WhatsApps regional-language instructions, and flags drug allergies — all from a single voice or click. Built for high-volume pediatric and family dental practices.
Pediatric drug dosing is weight-based, not age-based. A 6-year-old can weigh 16 kg or 28 kg in Indian populations — flat age-based dosing risks under-treatment of cellulitis or overdose of paracetamol (a leading cause of pediatric hepatotoxicity globally).
The IAP Standard Treatment Guidelines and IDA pediatric protocols both emphasise mg/kg dosing with maxima capped at adult doses. This calculator follows IAP STG 2022 and BNFc.
Per IDA / Cochrane evidence, the majority of pulpal pain and reversible pulpitis does not need antibiotics — definitive treatment (pulpectomy, extraction, drainage) is the cure. Reserve antibiotics for systemic involvement (fever, cellulitis, lymphadenopathy), spreading infection, or the immunocompromised child.
Yes. IDA and IAP both recommend amoxicillin as 1st-line for odontogenic infections in non-allergic children. Metronidazole may be added for spreading anaerobic infection. Co-amoxiclav (Augmentin) is reserved for severe or non-responding cases.
AHA / IDA: prosthetic valves, previous infective endocarditis, unrepaired cyanotic CHD, valvulopathy post cardiac transplant. Dose: amoxicillin 50 mg/kg single dose 30-60 min before invasive dental procedure.
Avoid in infants <6 months, dehydration, NSAID hypersensitivity, asthma exacerbation, peptic ulcer, severe renal impairment. For most healthy Indian children >6 months, ibuprofen 10 mg/kg TDS is superior to paracetamol for post-extraction pain.
60 mg/kg/day or 4 g/day (whichever is lower). Hepatotoxicity is a real risk in malnourished or hepatically-impaired Indian children — never exceed five doses in 24 hours and never combine multiple paracetamol-containing products (e.g., Calpol + cold syrup).
Yes. The EasyClinic prescription engine takes weight + diagnosis and outputs mg dose, mL of syrup, brand/strength on the Indian market, daily total, duration, and prints / WhatsApps the instructions in your patient's preferred regional language. Saves ~2 minutes per pediatric prescription.
EasyClinic's pediatric-aware prescription engine auto-doses by weight, picks an India-available brand, prints WhatsApp-ready instructions in Hindi / Tamil / Marathi, and flags allergies and renal contraindications. ₹1,999/month.
